Welsh// Slate is exeptionally durable, unaffected by normal extremes of temperature and is highly resistant to acids, alkalis and other chemicals. It retains its natural colour, even in UV light and is impermeable to water. Specific attributes include:-
- Durability - 100 years plus useful productive life
- Colour-fast, non fading
- Aesthetically pleasing
SSQ Matacouta is blue/black in colour, exhibits a naturally riven texture
and is unique to the quarry in North West Spain from where the slate takes its name. The distinctive blue/black colour is completely natural and devoid of artificial pigments, so it will not fade even when exposed to the harshest environments in Scotland.
